What it means in practice
The examination standard defines how basic knowledge examinations must be structured and administered. Multi-choice questions are the primary format, and each question must have three answer options with only one correct answer. The number of questions per module and the time allowed are specified. The pass mark is 75%, and candidates who fail may resit after a defined waiting period.
The organisation must maintain a question bank that is large enough to generate examinations that are not predictable from one sitting to the next. Questions must be reviewed and refreshed regularly, and the bank must be secured against unauthorised access to maintain examination integrity.
Key requirements
Multi-choice questions must have three options with one correct answer. The minimum number of questions per module is specified by the regulation. A 75% pass mark applies.
