CAMO.A.075 sets out the conditions under which a Part-CAMO approval remains valid, including ongoing compliance with Part-CAMO requirements and granting the competent authority access for oversight purposes.

What it means in practice

A Part-CAMO approval remains valid as long as the organisation continues to comply with all applicable requirements, the competent authority is granted access to the organisation for oversight purposes, and the organisation has not surrendered or had its approval revoked. The approval does not have an expiry date but can be suspended or revoked if compliance is not maintained.

The continued validity depends on the organisation proactively maintaining all the conditions that were assessed at the time of initial approval. This includes maintaining qualified personnel, adequate facilities, an up-to-date CAME, and an effective management system. The competent authority verifies continued validity through its ongoing surveillance programme.

Key requirements

The organisation must remain in compliance with Part-CAMO at all times, provide access to the competent authority for any inspection or audit, and pay any applicable charges. If the approval is surrendered or revoked, the organisation must return the approval certificate to the competent authority.

Common compliance gaps

Organisations sometimes fail to recognise that the conditions which existed at initial approval must be continuously maintained. Gradual degradation of resources, procedures, or staff competence can go unnoticed until a competent authority audit reveals that the organisation no longer fully meets the requirements, placing the validity of the approval at risk.
