CAMO.A.115 requires the organisation to have suitable office accommodation and working environment for its staff to perform continuing airworthiness management tasks effectively.

What it means in practice

The organisation must provide office accommodation that allows staff to carry out their continuing airworthiness management duties effectively. This includes adequate workspace, access to relevant documentation and data systems, and facilities that allow confidential work to be performed where necessary. The working environment must be suitable for the tasks being performed, which primarily involve planning, documentation, data analysis, and record-keeping.

Unlike Part-145 which requires hangars and workshops, Part-CAMO facilities are primarily office-based. However, the facilities must still be adequate for the volume and complexity of work being managed. This includes sufficient IT infrastructure to support the record-keeping and data management systems used by the organisation.

Key requirements

The facilities must be adequate for the scope and scale of the continuing airworthiness management activities. Secure storage must be provided for records and documentation. The working environment must protect sensitive documents from unauthorised access. Where airworthiness review staff need to conduct physical surveys, appropriate access arrangements must be in place.

Common compliance gaps

Facility-related findings are most common in organisations that have grown beyond their initial office space without upgrading their facilities. Inadequate IT infrastructure, including unreliable network connections and insufficient backup systems for digital records, is a frequent audit finding in smaller CAMOs.
